*David Bowie: Secret Signs*

"Moonage Daydream" lyrics

In the song "Moonage Daydream" on the 1972 LP 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars,' David Bowie sings: "Keep your mouth shut, you're sqwarking like a pink monkey-bird.."

This lyric seems to allude to an actual alien creature that has reportedly been seen during a well-known encounter.

I've not , so far, been able to find any terrestrial creature known to the established world that "pink monkey-bird" could reasonably define.

"Starman" lyrics

A certain 'contactee,' in 1954, had an experience, that ultimately led to contact with Space People.

It began in a manner that corresponds substantially to the opening lines of "Starman."

"Ziggy Stardust" lyrics

Ziggy is characterised in this song's lyrics as being "..like some cat from Japan.."

People have encountered aliens whose eyes they have subsequently reported to be "cat-like" or "oriental.".

"Space Oddity" promotional video

A prominent feature of this video is consistent with a detail of an alien encounter.

The detailed story of this encounter, involving a whole family, was reported, years after this video was made, in a book that was serialised in The Sun newspaper.

"Jean Genie" lyrics

An article has previously been distributed referring among other things to dictionary definitions of words in the title and lyrics (e.g.'genie' and 'capsule').

With regard to the repeated line "poor little greenie": a biography called 'Loving The Alien' has included information about David Bowie at one time speaking about some contact with aliens, and his referring to them as 'greenies.'

This is further evidence that the lyrics of "Jean Genie" are to a large extent describing an alien and/or alien characteristics and procedures.

"Boys Keep Swinging" promotional video

Cylinders depicted on the backdrop in this video may be significant.

The film 'Labyrinth'

In his mid-1980s film role as Jareth, the Goblin King, David Bowie is seen to move a globe around on his hand. (The documentary 'The Making of Labyrinth' shows how the manipulation is actually effected by another man standing behind him, unseen).

This connects all too well with a feature in a certain well-known and documented alien encounter to be attributable to just coincidence.

(See also, for example, the cover of Yoko Ono's 'Starpeace' LP).

"Loving The Alien" promotional video

While singing, for no apparent reason, David Bowie's nose starts bleeding.

Alien abduction investigators have stated that abductees frequently go through periods of suffering from nosebleeds; due, seemingly, to the alien beings having operated on their nasal cavities - possible implantation for tracking or 'inculcation.'

"Hallo Spaceboy" lyrics

Four years back, David Bowie performed "Hallo Spaceboy" at the BRIT awards, accompanied by the Pet Shop Boys, after receiving a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' from Labour leader Tony Blair.

Perhaps, Mr.Blair was unaware of the song's blatant allusion to Project Moondust - the secret American program that dealt with the recovery of space debris. If alien spacecraft fell to Earth while this project was in operation, then it is most likely that Moondust would have "covered" them.

Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy on David Bowie

This item was printed in Evening Standard Londoner's Diary, 20 February 1996:

I'm only chancing

Forget the Scott Report. Liberal Democrat MP Charles Kennedy has far more important matters on his mind: last night's Brit awards.

Passionate Kennedy has confessed to being a rocker at heart. Blur, Oasis and the break-up of Take That, though, have all passed him by. He claims they were forgotten in the "honest-to-God excitement" (his words not mine) of watching David Bowie collect his Brit Lifetime Achievement award last night. The sight has left the poor chap feeling every bit of his tender 36 years.

Or so he claimed in yesterday's edition of The House magazine - which came out, curiously enough, some time before the Brits were given away.

Not that Charles allows petty chronological detail to inhibit his eye-witness account of the awards. "It was terribly thirty-something," he laments. "The moment you realise, alas, that you really are getting on a bit. For me, it was a revisitation of the Golden Years. The hard fact, that your teenage icon is almost hitting 50 scarcely bears thinking about. But he's still the greatest. So there."

British Prime Minister Tony Blair on David Bowie

The centrespread of The Mirror newspaper, November 20 1995, featured a colour exclusive photo report on the visit of Labour leader Tony Blair and his wife Cherie backstage to see David Bowie and his wife Iman after a Wembley Arena concert by Bowie. The article quoted David Bowie's publicist Alan Edwards as saying:

"They spoke about music and politics and Mr.Blair told him the last time he had seen him was over 20 years ago. He was a bit of a Bowie buff."

And, Tony Blair, himself, apparently commented:

"I have always liked David Bowie and it was great to meet him. I really enjoyed the concert. It showed he can still perform with the best of them."

Towards the end of the next year, Mr.Blair contributed 'My Top Ten Singles of 1996' to the NME Christmas issue, including "Hallo Spaceboy":

"The record that Bowie and The Pet Shop Boys performed at the Brits when I presented him with an award. I've always liked both of them so it was good to see them together, though I enjoyed the idea more than the song."

During 1999 a novel by Salman Rushdie was published called 'The Ground Beneath Her Feet.' As yet, I've not read this book; but I understand that the plot involves a rock group called VTO, which is supposed to stand for VERTICAL TAKE-OFF. Keep this in mind when looking at:
