Artist: John Marin

John Marin (1870-1953) was a leading American artist whose 'favoured motifs,' as detailed by author Ruth E.Fine included '..an active and varied sky structure.' Much of this 'motif' as manifested in his work is highly interpretable as UFO-like imagery. Three examples are shown here -

In 1931, art critic Ralph Flint wrote: '[Marin] is a master way beyond his time, possessing an almost sculptural solemnity and grandeur in his pictorial approach to the world about him, having a certain sumptuousness of outlook that is akin to that of an extraterrestrial patterning that has no other accounting for...'
