Description: The Apparatus in the Bottom of the Craft

Prominent in the apparatus seen by Betty Andreasson (Fig.8 Thandra), are three or four objects, somewhat like bottles with very extruded lower half.

[2+] There's possibly a connection to the RENE MAGRITTE painting 'La generation spontanee' (oil on canvas, 1937), in RMCR Vol.II. The similar objects in this Magritte painting were described by Margaret Krebs - who knew the artist - as "..the amphoras in Huxley's 'Brave New World' which contain the secret of birth according to the recipes of the labs of the year 2000..."

[2] Fragrance bottle manufactured by LENTHERIC LTD., 17 Old Bond St., London. W1, as shown in advertisement in Vogue magazine, March 1939, looks similar.

Stairs go up and around to a door. On the side are four circular shapes with an equatorial band: described as being like ripples.

[3+] Objects that look very like these 'ripple-like windows' (Figs.12/11 Thandra) were a recurrent motif in the work of RENE MAGRITTE, beginning c.1926 (see RMCR Vols.I & II).

[3+] One Magritte painting 'La Voix des Airs' (oil on canvas, 1931), featuring three of these globular forms with equatorial band, airborne, can be found on the front cover of the book 'Extraterrestrial Intelligence' by JEAN HEIDMANN. Mr.Heidmann, the Chief Astronomer of the Paris Observatory, was presumably not aware of the probable cosmic significance of the cover illustration to his book.

Description: Lightning, and Cleansing Device

Betty Andreasson saw what looked like '..lightning spears and rushing wind.. stopped motionless...' (Fig.14 Thandra) in a rectangular construction. Then she was put in a cleansing device (Fig.15), which engulfed her in a bright white light.

[2+] The RENE MAGRITTE painting 'L'etoupillon' (oil on canvas, 1948), in RMCR Vol.II, presents a figure in a glass case, with lightning spears outside - somewhat comparable to Betty Andreasson's two illustrations.

Description: The Eye-like Device that comes down from the Ceiling

Betty was taken into a hemispherical 'examination room' and had needle wires stuck into her left nostril-to-head, and her navel. The aliens also waved a fan-type device over her, measuring her for light. A device, like a big eye, came down from the ceiling.
