Chosen To Show The World Part 3

CHAPTER FIVE/CHAPTER SIX

Description: Betty Andreasson taken along a narrow track-like Corridor to a semi-cylindrical Room with four Chairs

Betty was put into an enclosing glasslike, plastic chair, in which she felt very cold. Then, she was moved into another similar chair that became immersed in grey liquid. After the fluid drained away and the seat opened up, she saw two of the alien creatures wearing shining silver suits and with a black hood over their faces. The three of them glided along a dark tunnel, and in the darkness, it looked as if the black-hooded aliens had no head.

Description: The Vision of the Great Bird/Phoenix

Betty Andreasson stands before a bird, like an eagle, about 15 feet high. It's got a white head, and there's a bright white light behind it. There's intense heat. The light and heat goes, and Betty sees a small fire, then embers, ashes, and finally a big fat grey worm. The entities tell her that she has been chosen to show the world.

[3] Both birds and fire are found a lot in the art of RENE MAGRITTE. Four paintings that contain a bird and a fire are: 'Les fanatiques' (oil on canvas, 1955). 'Le lieu-dit' (oil on canvas, 1955). 'Le temps jadis' (oil on canvas, 1966).

'Le Coupe d'Epaule' (The Helping Hand) (oil on canvas, 1957).

All those are in RMCR Vol.III. For 30 examples of birds in his work, go to the Official Magritte Site, click on 'Museum,' then 'Bird' in 'Theme.'

[3] ELVIS PRESLEY wore a white jumpsuit with red phoenix - first time: Huntsville, Alabama, 31.5.1975.

[3] ELVIS PRESLEY wore a white jumpsuit with black phoenix - first time: Huntsville, AL, 1.6.1975.

According to Graham Knowles, 'just about the whole of..' Elvis Presley's 17-date mini-tour in late-May/early-June 1975 consisted of the last three-listed phoenix jumpsuits, as well as an 'Indian feather' j/s. In Part Four of his 'Jumpsuit Junkie' series (in Elvis Monthly No.452), Graham stated: '..It is interesting to note that the 'Phoenix' jumpsuits were commissioned in 1974, and quite probably available for wearing. The white jumpsuit 'Aqua Phoenix' was over a year previous. It is said too, that Elvis had four white jumpsuits with a light green phoenix made, but didn't like it, along with the idea of a red jumpsuit with white phoenix. Of all these phoenix designs, the 'Red Phoenix' jumpsuit is the only one to feature the bird's head going to the left side as it is looked at from an onlooker's point of view, all the other variants feature the bird's head to the right. On Elvis' next tour, with these phoenix jumpsuits he took to wearing a neck choker. A curious item to say the least. They had the appearance of a dog collar with dangley jewellery bits. Elvis only used these for a few months then discarded them. By this stage of his career, Elvis had dropped the idea of capes, but original drawings of the white jumpsuit with black phoenix featured a cape, complete with large black phoenix with spread wings. Again, belt variations were used, probably to match Elvis' gain and shrink waistline of 75/76. Incidentally the 'Aqua Phoenix' jumpsuit was never worn again after 1974, its last appearance being Milwaulkee 28.6.74 (tour-wise), it is reported that Elvis wore it in the early part of his August Vegas season...'

[2] U2 single release 'Fire.'

[3] The title of U2's LP 'The Unforgettable Fire,' released October 1984, was derived from the title of an exhibition of photographs of the bombing of Hiroshima. At the time of the LP's release, U2 had previously played at least one concert at Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland. During their 'Unforgettable Fire' tour the group played a concert in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. (on March 1st 1985), which was the biggest show they'd ever done up to that time. In October 1988, U2's LP 'Rattle And Hum' came out, including a mention of the phoenix in the song 'Hawkmoon 269.'

Here is an excerpt from the book 'Abduction' by Jenny Randles (Robert Hale Ltd., 1988):

'..This experience by musicians is noteworthy, because there have been several others by musicians. A woman in Virginia reported her encounter to me, when she and her child lost time after being hit by the ubiquitous beam of light from a UFO. She went on to write and record music about love and peace for a group called 'PHOENIX'. She believes this comes from the abductors...'
