Marie L.Martin Sighting

....as reported to Arthur Shuttlewood....

Marie L.Martin cherishes perpetual memories of a certain day in January of 1953. She then lived in the Norfolk hamlet of Marham, a half mile from the aerodrome where her husband was an air crew engineer. She saw three silvery discs, which were then hardly ever publicized. Here is a relevant part of her story:

'My husband and I had a very great interest in astronomy and in any flying aircraft. I became quite well versed in the several types. It was a brilliant day and, as there was a visiting VIP making the rounds of the Norfolk air bases, all flying was grounded that day.

I had seated myself on the settee by the caravan window, intending to read a book, with a puppy dog on my lap. It was about three o'clock in the afternoon. The beauty of the sky was so arresting that I did not bother to open the book.

Instead, I sat gazing upwards. Suddenly, extremely high up, a jet aircraft came into view. The rate it was travelling, even for a jet fighter, was extraordinarily rapid, especially for that altitude; so I knelt up for a better look.

Then, to my horror, I saw the two "wings" leave the fuselage, expecting them to come hurtling down and the jet crash. My clenched hands flew to my cheeks in anguish. Here was tragedy, stark and horrifying, in front of my eyes...But it did not happen.

Instead, without any loss of speed, they went round, one behind the other, so that in a straight line they continued to race across the sky. Just as abruptly, they came to a dead halt in midair. I could then determine that they were round, shiny and metallic, glinting brightly in the rays of the sun.

After pausing for a matter of seconds, certainly no more than half a minute at most, they suddenly rose together as one and sped into the blue above and out of sight. This was viewed by another friend in an adjoining caravan.

When I told my husband about this at teatime, he was not at all surprised or excited, as I fully expected him to be. He just said that they had seen such things, particularly the jet pilots who had faster and higher speed instruments than the bombers he was in.

But all personnel were firmly warned not to breathe a word about them to the public - not even to members of their own families. My husband was true to his code and had not told or hinted anything to me before I told him what I had seen that afternoon.

Not until the "later" discs had left formation and joined into a line did I realise the significance of what I was seeing. I felt very elated and mentally sent "them" a heartfelt welcome. Since then, I have had a lot of inexplicable things happen, as though my life has been mapped out for me, contrary to what I thought I wanted to do.

Unfortunately, my husband died in a crash soon after my sighting, and I have had two children to bring up, but I have had much help and comfort. I have also had "experiences" which indicate that we are not "seeing" all that there is to see in this dimension; and I do not mean this in the psychic sense, either.'
