Radios Affected By UFOs
A Listing Of 252+ Cases
February
1944: Bass Strait, Australia; 2.30am.
Sighting by a crew member of a bomber. The witness saw a UFO, mostly in shadow,
but the back of the object was made visible by a 'flickering light or flame.'
It was about 100-150 feet away from the plane, and, while in such a proximity
'all radio and direction-finding instruments' on board the aeroplane wouldn't
function.

'In Air, On Ground, They're Everywhere - Sergeant C.F.Clifton, Bergstrom Field
aerial radioman reported seeing one of the "flying saucers" bound
toward San Antonio as his plane was leaving there. Other members of the crew
also saw the disc.
"I think it was about 18 feet in diameter and looked
as though it was made of glass," Sgt.Clifton said. "It was extremely
bright and kept flashing."
Sgt.Clifton said that the crew figured that it
must have been flying 1,440 miles an hour because it overtook and passed their
plane in such a short time. It was round and was flying at a slightly tilted
angle.
"The disc seemed to be spinning as it flew,"
Sgt.Clifton reported. "It blurred radio receptions slightly."
Lieutenant Charles O.Anderson was piloting the
plane which the disc passed about 4:30 p.m.'

'In the last two days, near midnight, intense phosphorescence and the forms
of strange lights have been observed at the same time. they have passed through
the sky from north to south, and radio receivers have heard, during the occurrence
of this phenomenon, words pronounced in an incomprehensible tongue. popular
fancy supposes that these luminous signals may come from the planet Mars.'

A large, orange-coloured "air blimp" came down close to the road,
observed by the male car driver. As the car was driven under the object, the
car radio shut off completely. The unidentified craft hovered for 20 seconds,
and then flew off within a further 30-40 seconds. [Rodeghier/Blue

1953: USA; 3am.
Teenagers listening to a car radio heard a 'screech' from it as they observed
a 'green flash in the sky.' After two of the four witnesses had left the scene,
they watched an unidentified flying disc with a blue light on top, white circle
on rim, manoeuvring in various ways, for about 20 minutes (no recurrence of
radio static).

Buck Nelson was listening to the radio in his home, when '..a high-pitched
noise and what appeared to be a foreign tongue cut across the programme..'
He listened, '..for a few minutes and then turned the volume down and tried
to tune in to get the programme more clearly; but the noise, mixed up with
the babble of the unknown language, persisted...' Meanwhile, his pony and
his dog were both causing a commotion outside the house. Going outside, Buck
was amazed to see '..a huge disc-like object, at least 50 feet in diameter..
hovering over the house about 100 or 200 feet up..' before it landed on the
back of his 80-acre ranch, about 800 to 1,000 ft. from the house.
In a letter sent to Flying Saucer Review, dated
22.1.55, Buck Nelson stated - '..I had a very clear, close-up view when it
was directly over me at the back of my house near the kitchen door. It flew
low and stood still in the air for several minutes.
I rushed into the house to get my reflex camera, but when I returned it had
raised up into real low clouds with two other such craft.
I took several snaps with my camera. One snap shows two space ships among
the clouds fairly clear...'

Andy Florio saw a disc-shaped object in the sky. It was at least 100 ft. diameter,
with bluish-green lights at top, and amber lights seeping through the rim.
There was a sound of "electrical humming."
The radio of the car failed, its lights dimmed and it 'slowed
involuntarily to 12-15 mph.' Florio stopped the car and was struck by a beam
of white light, sent out by the UFO. When the car was later checked the radio
was reported to be dead, there were 'only three spark plugs still firing'
and there was 'a defective battery.'

Porto Alegre-Sao Paulo, Brazil; about 1.30am.
Captain Jean V. de Beyssac, the Chief Pilot of a Varig Airlines C-46 cargo
plane, had taken the twin-engined freighter up to an altitude above a layer
of broken clouds, when he spotted '..a strange red light below the plane and
to the left, on his side. He told his co-pilot to lean over and get a good
look at a real flying saucer. The co-pilot took a look, and they both laughed
at this little joke. . .but not for very long. A few moments later when De
Beyssac glanced down to his left there was the same red object, but closing
rapidly. He started to bank toward it but the object beat him to the move
- it zoomed toward the plane. Before De Beyssac could make any substantial
change in his maneuver the red object was very near at hand. There was a strong
smell of something burning - but the fire indicators registered clear. The
red glow from the object suddenly began to recede. A quick check disclosed
that the radio transmitter, the generator for the right engine, and the aerial
direction finder system were all burned out. Captain De Beyssac swung the
plane around and went limping back to Porto Alegre. There he made a full written
report of the strange encounter, had the co-pilot sign it with him. . . .and,
in his own words - "I went home and got drunk."

'..Richard Gerdes, eighteen, a ham-radio operator at Joliet, Illinois, was
one of several operators who "tracked" an object by its signal from
the vicinity of Chicago to the Dallas, Texas, area. There had been an object
seen over a cemetary at Chicago which had interfered with radio transmission
and the electrical system of the police patrol car which was pursuing the
object, and as it headed south, Gerdes's mother, who was listening to radio
dispatches about it, told him, and he began picking up the strange signal.
The significant part of this incident is Gerdes's description of the signal.

'..at 6.30 p.m., Cecil Manning saw a huge dome-shaped object high in the sky
over Casino.. The same object was also sighted by Brian Crittenden, who told
reporters:
I was on my way home when I spotted this dome-shaped thing with a narrow light underneath which was bright and glowing. It followed me for three miles along Benns Road, and appeared to be only fifty yards away, and about thirtyfeet high, practically touching the tlegraph poles. It easily overtook me although I wa travelling at almost seventy miles an hour, and kept swooping down over the roof of my car. It kept repeating its actions until I reached home.
I can't say whether the object was noiseless or not because
the noise from my engine was so great, but it is a notable fact that my car
radio developed interference as the object was approaching.'

'Mr.Robert Collins.. was driving his half-ton pickup truck toward Greenville..
at 7 A.M. He spotted what he thought were the lights
of an airliner engaged in an emergency landing on (an) ice-covered lake. He
slowed his truck.. and was startled when the lights approached the road from
the east. As they drew near they appeared as one light, as bright and blinding
as that of an arc light. It came on, then hovered over the truck for three
or four minutes, whereupon the truck's whole electrical system failed, the
engine died, and the radio also quit playing. It was as if a master switch
had been pulled, Collins said..
Collins was sure the light which bathed the truck and the
ground for an area of about one hundred yards around the vehicle emanated
from a source about two thousand feet overhead. Although the light had approached
slowly at first, when it left, it shot out of sight and disappeared into the
west within thirty seconds. Then the engine, lights, and radio came to life.'

'Jim Dobbs, Jr. .. reported a strange signal on his car radio which had the
same pattern as that of the signal which flabbergasted the Federal Communications
Commission later in 1959. It was 8:30 A.M. .. he said,
when he saw an egg-shaped object which glowed "like the radium on a watch"
while he traveled.. on State Road 18. He estimated that it was 10 degrees
above the southern horizon and traveling very fast. At the moment of the sighting,
he said, he had been tuning his radio to a local station and heard a steady
succession of two dots and a dash. meanwhile, the object traveled across the
sky in front of him and disappeared over the eastern horizon. The total viewing
time was approximately thirty seconds. He heard the strange radio signals
just as he spotted the object, and they faded out when the object went out

Chief Frank Buckshot Standing Horse, an Ottawa Indian, had been working hard
all day preparing his Christian camp for a coming convention - '..Finally
stopping at 8.00 p.m., he went into his house, too tired to eat or bathe.
So he sat down and read a book until the 10 o'clock news. Soon after that
his radio made a noise like a shotgun going off, and his lights went out.
Going outside by the front door to the fuse box, he pulled the switch and
the lights came on again. While he stood there wondering about the cause of
this, he felt the presence of someone near him..'
Chief Standing Horse then encountered three men, who identified themselves
as 'spacemen from other worlds.' He went with the men to an island northeast
of the camp '..where a magnificent circular ship came down to the ground.
The Chief judged it to be about 250 feet in diameter and about 28 feet high...'

and were driving home with the radio and lights on.
A 'circular, metallic disk giving off a bluish-green mercury-type
light around its edge' was sighted, and the younger brother, driving, jammed
on the brakes. The disc 'dropped almost straight down.. to the right of the
car.. then.. in front of them, centred over the road, still at an estimated
fifty feet altitude. They heard a humming sort of vibration as it hovered..'
As the two men reached for the car door handles to get away, the lights, engine
and radio stopped. They then stayed in the car, and were unable to restart
the engine, radio or lights.
Suddenly the disc shot up, then forward, made
a 90 degree turn, and flew away 'edge-on.' The radio and lights came back
on, and the car was successfuly restarted.

flying saucer was Yoshiaka Inaba, pilot of the domestic TOA Airlines, as he
was flying his Convair-240 with 40 passengers aboard over Himeji, near Osaka,
on his way to Hiroshima, shortly after 7 p.m. -
"A mysterious elliptical luminous object appeared just after I had passed Himeji. I was flying at the time at an altitude of about 2,000 metres. The object followed for a while, and then followed along my left wing across the Inland Sea for a distance of about 90 kilometres until we reached Matsuyama on Shikoku Island. It then disappeared."
He said the object emitted a greenish coloured light and violently affected his automatic direction finder and his radio. He said he tried to contact the Osaka communications tower but was unsuccessful.
His co-pilot Tetsu Umashima tried to contact the Matsuyama tower to report on their observation of the strange object. While he was trying to do so, he heard the frantic calls from the pilot of a Tokyo Airlines 'Apache', who said he was being chased by a "mysterious luminous object" while he was flying along the northern edge of Matsuyama city.
Inaba, a veteran of 20 years with more than 8,600 hours,
said it was the first time in his flying experience that he had ever seen

In an article for Flying Saucer Review about Canadian sightings, Dan
Lloyd reported - under the heading 'Radio jamming and UFO link?' - an interesting
account from the Toronto Telegram: '..It tells how a Mr. and Mrs. David
Brock were awakened at their country home.. early on the morning of February
15, by an extremely bright light moving back and forth across the trees. Mrs.
Brock watched the object for about 45 minutes. It was disc-shaped and, whenever
it changed position, a red glow was emitted from the centre. It skimmed the
tree tops but made no noise.. as soon as day broke, it took off straight up
at a terrific speed.
An interesting aspect of this case is that Mr. Brock, a ham radio enthusiast, had noticed frequent jamming on his short wave set the evening before the UFO visit. When, the follwing evening, Mr. Brock got another garble of signals on his set, he put two and two together and decided to get up early in the morning to see if there was any connection between the interference and the UFO visit. This he did on the morning of Thursday, February 17 - and there was the same UFO, or a similar one, in the same place. This time neighbours were alerted and the object was seen by about 14 witnesses. As on the first occasion of the sighting, the object shyly vanished at first light...'

'QPP Chase First UFO - No Arrest. By RICHARD LEVESQUE.
Provincial police appear to have registered their first flying saucer chase.
At 2 a.m. this morning two constables at Three Rivers reported to headquarters
that they were chasing a luminous spherical object.
Constables Jacques Marcotte and Ronald Gagnier, said the object was moving 250 feet above the ground 100 yards off the highway to the St.Lawrence River, near Pointe du Lac. They chased the object for several minutes and then saw it "crash" in tidal flats. The officers ran to the scene but could not find anything.
In alerting other police posts, the officers termed it an unidentified flying object. The officer in charge at Montreal headquarters said that police radio communications during the night had been bad due to an unusual amount of static.
He also said that a newspaper truck driver had called him to report a "luminous fireball" had been following him in northend Montreal at about the same time as the police sightings. The driver said he passed through certain stops on his delivery schedule because the "luminous fireball" followed his truck along the city streets. He tried to lose it by swerving around intersections but the object kept close by. Finally, he said he couldn't see it anymore and returned to his normal route.
Sightings of unidentified flying objects have been occurring
frequently throughout the province in the past few weeks.

The youths - Kelly Wood, Bret Kuhn and Bill Walker - said the object was 50 to 60 feet in diameter and hovered at a height of 100 to 200 feet. they described it as round and dark gray, with a small disc on its underside from which a white light pulsated.
The smaller disc emitted a white glow, they said. The youths
said the radio in their truck began buzzing shortly before they saw the object.'

a large bright glow hovering about 400 to 500 feet above St. Leo's Cemetary,
so they investigated. Again Lore writes:
"Wallace told Raymond E.Fowler, of NICAP's Massachusetts Subcommittee, that he stopped his car, placed it in neutral gear and put the emergency brake on, with the motor still running. He lowered the windows. Then he got out and pointed toward the UFO. As he did so, his arm was pulled abruptly against the roof of the automobile. His car then stalled; the headlights went out and the radio ceased playing.
"I was unable to move," he said. "My wife
was in panic. My mind was not at all affected. (I) just could not move, felt
like shock or numbness."
"When the car went dead," Mrs. Wallace
stated, "I was yelling for Bill to get back into the car, but he did
not move from where he was standing. I then slid across the seat and reached
for him."
Mrs. Wallace grabbed her husbands's jacket, but
the startled witness, who has a reputation for being fearless, did not move.
Wallace reported that he was in this immobile state for more than 30 seconds.
Then he noticed that the lights and radio came back on. The UFO, which, by
then, was rocking back and forth, sped upward and disappeared, emitting a
humming sound.'

seemed to be focused upon him. It came from - "a mushroom-shaped craft,
30 feet or more in diameter, hovering above the treetops at an estimated 100
feet above the ground... I seemed to be surrounded by the beam. It was two
to three feet in diameter, and brillaint on the outside. Yet I could see up
it, and there was no glare or anything inside the tube... I had the most extraordinary
feeling that I was being observed through the tube. I couldn't see anyone
- I could just make out shape of the glowing craft. I felt compelled to look
up the tube. But I didn't feel any fear, and I don't remember thinking of
anything in particular..."
After about five minutes, the bluish beam was switched
off, going out just like the way an electric light does - "The color
of the craft seemed to darken, then it accelerated very swiftly and disappeared
toward the west at terrific speed." Mr.Spargo then found himself speeding
along the road, without recalling having restarted the car. He also discovered,
later, that his watch had lost five minutes.

turned in the direction of the slowly-moving object and the interference on
the long wave-lengths was so strong that it blocked all other transmisions.

the very shortest it was barely perceptible. The object was seen by inumerable

'A mysterious light in the sky.. terrified a young Hinckley housewife as she
drove alone in a car along the main Ashby to Hinckley Road. Now, Mrs. Eunice
Rose.. wonders if anyone else saw a mystery object in the sky. It was, she
said, about the size of a double decker bus and passed above her car moving
in the direction of Oddstone and lighting up the countryside.
The frightening feature of the incident for Mrs. Rose was that as the
object went over, the engine of her car began to fade out. All the car lights
including the headlamps were dimmed and a transistor radio that was playing
in the car at the time faded out completely for a few minutes.
"I

shining up into the sky.
The glow persisted, and it was after she had turned right on the main
road and was driving towards Hinckley that the bright object crossed the road

of a sudden my radio started acting funny, squealing. I glanced out the kitchen
window and saw this thing in the air. It was tilted slightly and it was coming
down toward the ground. It hovered a bit, blowing snow up and then I watched
it land. It was a red and gold thing, really weird, with some kind of orange
colored flame coming out of it. It was about a foot high and four or maybe
five inches in diameter, but it was squarish, not round. About 50 feet is
as close as I ever got. I hung up the phone, grabbed my camera and ran outside.
I stopped and took a picture of it sitting on the ground, but then as I started
to move closer to it, it took off. It went straight up for about 50 feet and
then there was a sound like a shotgun firing and it took off real fast and
flew away.
Whatever it was left a hole in the snow about 3 inches across & cleared
to the ground beneath. There are all these little black particles in the snow
around it, and this greenish-looking stuff in the hole in the snow. It doesn't
smell very good at all."
Then Gowan said he photographed the hole and took samples of the "greenish-looking
stuff". He said the thing appeared to be controlled by radio or something.'

to his home in Catanduva.. He had been to Itajobi to submit his accounts to

a youth... It was raining hard, and he was driving at moderate speed.
He switched on the car radio, and heard the announcer say it was 3.00 a.m., and then came a song by the singer Nelson Ed. He turned up the volume, but suddenly the programme was overlaid by powerful interference resembling static. He fiddled with the knob, but the noise grew louder and louder, till finally the radio programme was blotted right out..'
The engine of Mr.Patero's car then began to fail. An intense ray of bluish
light shone into the car, which he soon afterwards found came from an 'opaque
oval-shaped object' at a height of 15-20 metres. The whole area was lit up

A tube came down

An anonymous night security worker, in a car, with the radio switched on,
saw a streak of light shoot across the sky, then reappear. The tremendously
frightened witness watched the object move about in all directions, then descend
with a spiral motion to just above the roof of a cement factory, where it
sent out green light rays intermittently.
Then.. 'the light descended
to an altitude of about 20 metres from the surface of the sea and stopped,'
at which point a glass-like tube came down, touched the water's surface, glowed
and seemed to suck up water.
A little later during this event, the man was able to observe 'eerie,
shadow-like figures' within the craft, when it was airborne over his head.
Then, he also saw three or four objects similar to the first one, and watched,
terrified, as all these 'glowing balls.. were sucked into (a) huge drum-like
object' (that he'd just become aware of). The witness's more detailed and
vivid account concludes - 'I still remember that as this terrifying phenomenon
receded from me I began to feel my whole body numb, as if I had been sitting
for a long time in a yoga practice. It was then that I perceived that my car
radio was emitting meaningless sounds and at the same time I felt my head
aching heavily. The duration of the experience, although it felt as if it
were very long at the time, may have been only 11-12 minutes in all. I could
not sleep that night and was only too eager to be replaced by another man

Paul Brown was driving home on U.S.Route 29, when 'the interior of his car
suddenly lit up with an intensely bright white light; his radio also became
a jumble of static.'
Very soon, a bright light descended onto the road, about 100 yards
ahead of Mr.Brown. It was an object of about 15 ft. diameter, and it blocked
his way, so that he had to brake. Three aliens wearing silvery suits came
out of the craft; but they got back in after the frightened man moved to confront
them with a gun.

'A Regent farmer, Clarence Krogh and his 17 yr old son reported seeing an
UFO near their farm home Thursday night. Krogh's son (who later called his
father) was returning home in a pickup about 10:45 pm when he noticed a large
object (about two and a half times as large as the quonset hut on the farm),
with red, white and blue lights hovering over a field about 2 miles from the
farm, and 1,000 feet above the ground.
It was about 200 feet long and 75 feet wide. It had a huge red light on
one end, which alternately grew and faded in intensity, a blue light near
the center and a white spotlight that aimed at his pickup. He and his father
both heard a humming noise (it had caused young Krogh's radio to go off the
air). Silver-gray in color. Sheriff is investigating.'

Mrs.A.Richards was driving home with two of her children - Janine (8) and
Kathleen (5). It was evening, and the radio was playing with good reception,
until approaching a bridge on St.Anson's Bay Road, it 'went static.' Then
the sky ahead lit up, and, as they crossed the bridge, their car lost power
and 'stopped dead.'
Everything went down on the car, and it was 'enveloped'
by an extremely loud 'vibrating noise.' Profound electric shocks then struck
the three within the car, followed by 'an invisible choking smell - a penetrating
gas.' Mrs.Richrds and Janine escaped from the vehicle, taking out the 'dazed,
half awake' Kathleen also.
Mr.Richards, back at the family home, had seen 'lights in the sky and
heard a distant roar.'

Witness, Mrs.W., was parked in a car, waiting for a relative to show up. Just
after she had heard the time given as 5.20pm on her car radio - 'the whole
area lit up, the bright light penetrating the interior of the car. At the
same time, the radio developed a very high pitched whistle.'
Leaning
over to turn the radio off, Mrs.W saw 'a glowing orange and silver object'
coming slowly down a hill, between two trees. The UFO continued to approach,
as the witness started her car and backed up the road. The car then stuck,
and the craft stayed still in front of the terrified woman for about one minute.
It was domed, about 12 feet wide, and gave off an 'intense orange-yellow light.'

Police officer sighted disc-shaped object with hump on back and bottom. Bright
white and blue lights seemed to be shining on ground. Red or orange lights
were on the bottom edge of the object, about 30 feet in diameter. The witness
shone a spotlight on the craft, and it rapidly ascended. Before this sighting,
and others, the police officer's car radio "went wild.. the noises were
short weird responses."
April 3rd, 1975: Lumberton region, North
Carolina, USA; 2.20am.
'The first inkling that the UFO must have been bent on jamming radio frequencies
in the Lumberton environs came when.. Officer Jim Driver of the Roseboro (Sampson
County) Police Department, alone in his patrol car, noticed a series of lights
in the sky, hovering over some Pecan trees. This was the third sighting of
the night, but the importance of it was that Driver became the first lawman
to tell of the object's interference with his radio transmission.
Said Driver: "I got out of the car at that point and could not hear any
sound coming from the object. When I tried to radio headquarters my car radio
became all scrambled, so I had to use my walkie-talkie instead. The light
on the object swung away and lit up the pecan trees that were 200 feet away.'

Mrs Caruth - "..I honestly think they were trying to catch us.. Miss

'..Sixteen scientific investigators, members of an investigative society called

counters, a methane detector, magnetic & photographic eqipment, &
a parabolic listening device.. The equipment and personnel were set up on
a stretch of the Conrail railroad tracks where the mysterious light had been
seen on a number of occasions.
At 11:35 pm, 3 of the investigators reported seeing a glowing reddish light. At the same time the geiger counter indicated an abnormally high amount of radiation. The electrical capacitance showed a reading indicating there was something metallic between the rails. At the same time, there was a communications blackout between the investigators. William Wagner, an electronics engineer from Hopatcong, N.J., and a member of Vestigia, said -
"At the same time there was a communications blackout for about 30 seconds. We couldn't communicate on our radios. The 3 people at the post said later the light was visible for one to two minutes. It wasn't very bright & it appeared to move from side to side."
At one point Wagner noted the geiger counter went "right off the
scale." Later the counter was checked and found to be in perfect working
order. The strange light is similar to others reported in 47 other sections
of the U.S.'

Lee Parrish, 19 years old, was driving his Jeepster west on Highway 329, when
he saw a perfectly rectangular fiery object 'hovering just over the treeline,
between 100 and 220 feet away from the road and at an altitude of 100 to 150
feet.' The apparent craft was about ten feet in height, and 40 ft. long.
Mr.Parrish wanted to look at the object, which was described as 'the
colour of the setting sun,' but its intense brightness made direct observation
very difficult. His car moved forward towards the UFO, although it was not
being driven by the witness. 'About 15 seconds into the sighting, the car
radio failed.'
When the car and its human occupant were directly underneath the craft,
however, it abruptly sped off 'first at the speed of a jet, then even quicker'..
completely without a sound!
The witness later found that his eyes were
badly bloodshot, and that a 7-minute journey had taken 45 minutes (departure
and arrival times confirmed by girlfriend and mother). Through hypnosis it
was discovered that during the missing time, Mr.Parrish had first been 'transformed'
to an all-white luminous circular room containing red, black and white objects,
that were perceived as being sentient.

'Mr.Paul Exton.. is an AA engineer. In the early hours of the morning.. he
was driving his van along the A500 towards the junction at Basford. A colleague
was driving about 50 yards behind him and the two were communicating with
each other by radio on a frequency of 72.8 MHz.
At 2.25 a.m. their conversation suddenly became swamped by static. This
was composed of two definite levels of noise. There was a general background
hiss, and a high-pitched note. Both men heard the sound and had to tune their
sets down because of the volume of this interference.
Looking out to
the side of the road one of the men saw an orange light moving westwards parallel
with the road. At first it was seen over the Shelton Iron and Steel Plant,
but it then hovered for four to five seconds. As it did so the noise on the
radio increased in volume. The object then continued its path westwards towards
the M6. As it moved away the noise on the radio gradually faded out.'
Investigator Derek James was able to discover that on the same night the
radios of the police at their Stafford HQ '..had been heavily inundated with
very bad static between 2.15 and 2.25 a.m. They had been unable to find any
cause for this. Their radio operates on a frequency of 102 MHz.'

well have run down since it stopped at 3.30 a.m. However Mrs Grenville insists

Upon attempting to drain the tank, no water came out. Only steam...'

December 21st, 1981: Aksaray, Turkey; 7.30pm.
'..another UFO was sighted above the building site of the Aksaray Engine Factory,
and it was observed by the towanspeople and by Captain O. Celen, the foremost
military authority in the town. According to Mr. Dag, a grocer, at around
07.30 p.m. "a huge glittering silent object was seen giving off greenish
light above the building site. When Capt. Celen rushed to the site it was
still hovering over there." After a while it shot away in the same direction
as before. Its altitude was estimated to be around 800-1000, and it was described
as an 'egg-shaped' object. An interesting EM effect was noticed: when Capt.
Celen tried to contact his headquarters through his walkie-talkie, to his
amazement he saw that it had gone silent...'

Beginning of 1982: Aksaray, Turkey.
'..Sightings in Aksaray occurred again during the first days of 1982. The
TV sets and radios in some of the districts of the town are said to have malfunctioned
during the appearance of the UFOs. The daytime appearance of a UFO over Aksaray
on January 2 excited the whole town, and a large percentage of the townsfolk
had a chance to observe it...'

February 26th, 1983: near Kent, New York,
USA.
'..Monique O'Driscoll, a petite blonde employed by Putnam County's mental
health services department, was confronted by brilliant strobe lights in the
sky as she drove home from her mother's house in Kent, N.Y...
"I can't describe the brilliance of the lights, bright blues, reds and gold," she told the crowd, noting the UFO was massive, silent and V-shaped. As she followed the object it stopped above a house, 15 feet above the telephone line. No one responded as she blew her car horn and her CB radio was filled with static.
"I wanted it to stay," she admits, "But then it went zip
and was gone."...'

'The Onlooker By JIM HOUGH -
Dave Machtel, host on WJIM-AM radio, recently had a program in which listeners
called in to talk about UFOs. Dave, not much of a believer in those things,
made a flippant comment on Tuesday and challenged a UFO to stop in and pick
him up.
That's when some strange things began happening. A buzzing and clicking noise began interfering with the station's NBC network pickup from the satellite. Brian Halter, WJIM prgram director, began making phone calls to check it out. NBC said they had no problem with the signals from their end.
"The problem has continued for several days," Halter said, "and someone came into the station the other night to report a strange sighting in the sky over this area. It's pretty darned eerie, if you ask me. Has the Onlooker had any such reports? Do you believe in UFOs?" Halter asked.
I don't know, Brian, but if I were you, I'd tell Machtel to apologise
to that thing right away. Either that or have your call letters changed from
WJIM to WUFO. Come on, Dave, don't stir up that UFO junk again. It makes life
miserable for every reporter in town. If you've seen a UFO lately, call Dave,
not the Onlooker. He's on the air each afternoon at 2:05 p.m.'

'Mr P aged 15 was on his doorstep at 22.05 with his friend. Two white lights
appeared on top of each other. Only the lower one flashed. They discussed
the possibility of aircraft but concluded it was moving too slowly. His friend
had to go home so he went up to the bedroom and followed it with binoculars
for another 2 minutes. It eventually just disappeared. the boys had already
seen the light briefly earlier in the night and claim that their radio started
to crackle during its presence. They tape recorded the crackling, which sounds
like normal static. Reputedly the family cat seemed scared at this point as
well.' The same light was seen by Mr P, for six minutes on the following night,
and later on, a shaft of white light came into his home...
